Description

This bamboo plant is a great choice for areas prone to erosion, such on a hillside, or close to a river or lake. The deep rhizomes stitch the earth together below ground, yet above ground, only grow a few feet tall, allowing any desired visual view to be left unaffected.  Mowing this bamboo to the ground each spring encourages even more vibrant colors, and creates a short, dense, colorful lawn.

Pleioblastus viridistriatus also makes a great choice for someone wanting to grow bamboo indoors.
