Phyllostachys vivax aureocaulis

The culms of vivax aureocaulis are yellow with several green stripes of various widths.  It is extremely rare and like plain Vivax,  this variety of giant hardy bamboo is one of the most vigorous and fastest growing.  Vivax aureocaulis has excellent edible shoots and along with the other vivax cultivars is the fastest to reach timber size and spectacular groves.  This plant is known to revert to Vivax Huangwhenzhu and plain Vivax as one of ours has done.  It is possible to end up with three different cultivars from this one.  It is one of our favorite bamboos.  (1 gallon $75.00, 2 gallon $112.00, 3 gallon $150.00, 5 gallon $187.00, 7 gallon $207.00)
