P A Spectabilis Fall 98 300 dpi.JPG (84043 bytes)The culms are golden with contrasting bright green grooves. The green leaves have an occasional yellow stripe. The spectacular part is the rosy red tinting on the young culms and sun exposed old culms. The new shoots emerge with purple sheaths that show yellow internodes as the shoots elongate.  Quite showy and tropical looking for such a hardy bamboo.  Excellent choice for a screen because it is very erect and has tightly spaced culms all the way to the ground.  (1 gallon $37.00, 2 gallon $52.00, 3 gallon $75.00, 5 gallon $95.00, 7 gallon $115.00)
